We started with a simple observation: the country`s agricultural residues - hibiscus calyces, pineapple husk, moringa leaf, ginger fibre - were being discarded while their bioactive potential went untapped. Reflora Labs exists to close that gap.
Reflora Labs (U) Limited began inside the Chemistry Department at Kyambogo, Kampala, where early work on hibiscus, camomile and moringa extracts showed strong potential for managing hypertension, diabetes and everyday wellness concerns. What began as departmental research has grown into a company that manufactures, consults, and trains - while keeping its laboratory roots.
Today, our work spans four connected disciplines: valorising agricultural waste into medicine, formulating cosmetic and beauty products for partner brands, applying computer-aided drug design to accelerate discovery, and training the students who will carry this science forward.

To take what agriculture leaves behind, and - through rigorous chemistry - return it as medicine, formulation, and knowledge.
Every formulation is grounded in extraction and analytical work carried out in our chemistry department, not folklore alone.
We treat agricultural by-products as an undervalued resource - reducing waste while creating medicinal and cosmetic value.
From agro-processors to cosmetic brands and universities, we build formulations and pipelines collaboratively, not in isolation.
We train students in the same techniques we use in our own research - because the next discovery will come from someone we taught.
